SR. YOUTH CARE WORKER
Wai`anae: This full-time position at Family Programs Hawaii, a private, non-profit child welfare agency provides supervision of designated staff, admin support & child care in our emergency children's shelter. Daily priorities include safety & security of youth; supervision of child activities; coordination of facility maintenance & repairs; implementation of technology procedures; developing & managing staff schedules & attendance records; oversight of supplies & storage; crisis response; child care when others are not available; communication & coordination with partner agencies; birth family work; and management duties in the absence of Program Manager. Requires a Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; experience supervising staff & children; proficient computer & clerical skills; ability to deal with emotional & stressful situations; knowledge of the Leeward coast & Hawaiian values; and the strength & mobility to work directly with children, supplies & equipment in a residential environment. Must pass criminal records background, child protective services & medical clearance checks and possess valid driver's license, insurance & clean driver's abstract. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of child welfare system; experience in supervision of para-professionals; strong initiative & a self-starting approach to work; highly developed service orientation; sensitivity toward diverse cultural & socioeconomic backgrounds & lifestyles; and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with children, co-workers & the community.
YOUTH CARE WORKERS - On Call
Wai`anae: Provide supervision of children and youth in all aspects of their daily routine, prepare meals, conduct household maintenance for a 10 bedroom home, create and maintain youth records. Two years college education and child supervision experience preferred. Computer competency, knowledge of Leeward coast and Hawai`ian values, and an interest in the care and well being of children is required. Must have a valid driver’s license with clean abstract. Requires ability to work flexible hours.
